The Bayou Meto Lodge, located about 15 miles south of Stuttgart, Arkansas, sits in the shadow of the 34,000 acre Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area.

In the heart of the Mississippi Flyway, this area is considered by many to offer the best duck hunting in the country when migrating waterfowl move south to winter over in agricultural fields and bottomlands.

Bayou Meto Lodge is Arkansas owned by George Newcomb and Jim Villines who have hunted ducks and geese in the Stuttgart area for over four decades and know the meaning of a great outfitter. Operator, Adam Newcomb, along with the rest of the guides at Bayou Meto Lodge, has years of experience in Arkansas as well as Canada and all along the Mississippi flyway.

One thing to inquire about when booking your hunt is if you are going to hunt on public or private land. Many outfitters hunt on public land, especially flooded timber. All hunting at Bayou Meto Lodge is done on private land with a well-experienced guide.

Bayou Meto Lodge provides experienced dogs for the hunt or you may bring your own well-trained dog. Essential equipment for your duck hunting expedition should include chest waders, camouflage clothing, and a facemask. During the season, the temperatures can range from 30 to 60 degrees.
Our experienced guides strongly recommend #2 steel shot in a 12-gauge load. For safety, the minimum barrel length allowed in the blind is 26 inches. Shorter barrels may not clear the blind and are excessively loud.

Prior to the hunt, a light meal and coffee are served, followed by a hearty hunter's breakfast and lunch when the group returns to the lodge. Social hour and appetizers precede the evening supper. Ice and beverage refrigeration for your spirits are available at our bar, but state law prohibits the lodge from serving alcoholic beverages to guests. Guests with special dietary considerations can be accommodated (please inform us at the time of booking).
